Recovery under load

Downshift before you carry the day home.

This short transition routine can create space between one role and the next. It is not treatment for chronic stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or another mental health condition.

  1. Two minutes: change the environment. Step outside, sit somewhere quiet, or walk without the phone.
  2. Three minutes: slow the pace. Breathe comfortably with a slightly longer exhale; stop if lightheaded.
  3. Three minutes: name the next role. Identify who needs you next and the standard you want to bring.
  4. Two minutes: choose one action. Send the message, prepare the clothes, take the walk, or begin the conversation.

Build an evening runway.

Make tomorrow easier before your head reaches the pillow. Write the next day's priorities, lower stimulation, prepare clothes and food, and protect a quiet, dark, comfortable sleeping environment when possible.

Persistent insomnia, loud snoring, gasping, or severe daytime sleepiness deserves professional evaluation.

The seven-day comeback

Do not punish the lapse. Reduce friction and restore the floor.

  1. Walk for ten minutes and prepare tomorrow's clothes.
  2. Complete the 10-Minute Save.
  3. Prepare one protein-first breakfast and lunch.
  4. Complete one conservative full strength session.
  5. Walk and protect the evening runway.
  6. Complete a second session or another 10-Minute Save.
  7. Review what worked and schedule the next three sessions.

Presence is a performance standard.

Leadership is not only output at work. It is the ability to transition, listen, regulate your response, and bring deliberate energy to the person or responsibility in front of you.

Do not carry the entire plant, office, or job site through your front door.

Know when a routine is not enough.

Seek qualified support when stress, anxiety, low mood, substance use, anger, sleep problems, or relationship conflict is persistent, worsening, or interfering with daily life.
